Half Moon Bay Coastside History Museum

The Half Moon Bay Coastside History Museum has two components – the old city jail and the Johnston barn.

In June 2018, the Half Moon Bay History Association opened a small museum in the old city jail. A visit to this historic structure may surprise visitors with the amount of interesting artifacts and information packed into the building.

Docents Needed
If you are interested in local history, we would love to have you join us as a docent at the old city jail.  The training is fun and new classes are available regularly. Just email: info@halfmoonbayhistory.org

Currently, a major project is underway to broaden the museum into the Johnston Barn. Located just behind the jail building, the barn will provide ample space for expanding interpretive exhibits.
